Things I'm Loving This Month - April 2010

1- MAC eyeshadow quad = I've already reviewed this quad, click here for the review . What I'm loving about the colors of this quad is how versatile they are. In the morning I can have satin taupe on the upper lid, nylon as a highlighter ( if it's too much for you just use you face powder as a highlighter ) then sketch as a liner. For the night I create a smoky look by first applying sketch to my upper lid, then apply satin taupe on top of it. blend Woodwinked into the crease, highlight with nylon on the brow bone and in the inner corners of my eyes, finally lining my eyes with MAC Feline , smudging the liner with sketch and applying mascara.

2- Make up For Ever 12 Flash Color Case = Can some one tell me how I lived before this?!!!! it's truly amazing and I recommend every makeup junkie to have one =) I use the black as an eyeliner for both my lash line & waterline. It's supper creamy but sets fast & is long lasting on my super oily lids. the rest of the colors I use as:

* color bases for eyeshadows & blushes, the white is amazing for making any color pop & the gold is just gorgeous as a base for other shadows and pigments

* lipsticks

* eyeliners

* contour & highlight

* to mix with foundation

but beware not all the colors are eye or lip save, it says in the back of the box that:

In the U.S.A

Do not apply near the eyes: # 002 (coral) \ # 005 (Fuchsia) \ # 017 (Red)

Do not apply on lips: # 003 (Silver) \ # 010 (White) \ # 014 (Bright Blue)

nevertheless, I do love it & I find it to be a great investment.

3- Lancome Hypnose and Oscillation Powerbooster Mascara = Hello false lashes ! I first apply the primer then the mascara right after. nothing more to add =)

4- Benefit CORALista Blush = gorgeous pinkish coral blush that has fine gold shimmer . I love to apply it over # 002 coral MUFE FC case for a long lasting application that'll last all day long. If you like NARS Orgasm or MAC Springsheen then you'll love this.

Haul 24.Apr.2010 - MAC & Revlon Goodies

MAC Prep + Prime SPF 50 = LOVE LOVE LOVE, (this is my 10th ) it has high SPF, controls oil, light weight, absorbs very fast and really makes any makeup you put over it stay there.

MAC 130 brush = used it for the first time today & I have to say it's AMAZING. I used it to apply liquid foundation ( blends like a dream) and to apply eye concealer. Blending eye concealer was never this easy. Soft and sturdy, just wish if they make a bigger version of this because my face is too big for this brush . LOL

MAC Captive lipstick = a pinkish plum satin lipstick , it was a B2M and I didn't try it yet but I cant wait to have it on with date night dazzleglass on top.

Revlon Photo Ready Foundation = Used it for the first time today, I have oily acne prone skin for reference, and I think meh !! over hyped maybe? but I'll need to use it more to know.

Haul - 23. April. 2010 - Lush Goodies

So I went to the 360 mall & had to drop by Lush ( we only have two in Kuwait). First I got:

HONEY TRAP LIP BALM which smell a lot like my all time favorite Manage Too massage bar, but that should be no surprise because they share a lot of ingredients like honey, peppermint oil and white chocolate, how can you not love that? I'm still testing it & so far I'm liking it.

I also bought the small size of Yummy Yummy Yummy shower gel , which also smells divine, I checked the ingredients and found the yummiest ingredients ever like fresh strawberries, honey and almond oil. I cant wait to take a shower.

then I bought a vegan body lotion Vanilla De-Lite it smelled nice in the store but I used it at home and i found it too spicy for my taste! I don't know I guess I should give it a try, but so far I love it's moisturizing qualities (used it as a hand lotion last night)

Finally I got a gift of their wrapped gifts section, it's for my cousins graduation SPARKLE, it has Sweetie Pie Shower Jelly and Shimmy Shimmy Glitterbar. Hope she enjoys it =)

at the end I just want to express my frustration with Lush prises in Kuwait =( they are like double or triple the prises in the US which is really annoying! but I will keep buying Lush because they do have great quality products that are not only good for us but also great for the environment, oh and because they give free stuff like the massage bar tin I got ;)

My Favorite MAC Quad

This MAC quad has been getting a lot of <3

Colors are:

1- Woodwinked, upper left corner, it's a warm antique gold(Veluxe Pearl), this color is smooth, pigmented, & a dream to blend. but beware, this color can turn orangy on some people, guess it oxidizes or something,so I recommend you have a good base under it.

2- Satin Taupe, upper right corner, it's a taupe with silver shimmer(Frost), I do think that if you ever visit a MAC counter, you should check this color first. yes it's a cult favorite, & some may think it's way over hyped,but I believe it's a beautiful silver brown with a plum undertone that can be extremely flattering on many skin tones & eye colors, that's if you don't mind it being frosty. ( Just swatch it)

3- Sketch, lower left corner, its a burgundy with red shimmer(Velvet), this maybe one of my top three favorite MAC eyeshadows. not the smoothest if I may say but it's bendable,really pigmented, looks amazing on my skin tone, and very versatile. I use it as a lid color (alone or under shimmery colors), I use it to deepen the crease, to smudge eyeliner, and as a liner by itself.

4- Nylon, lower right corner, its a pale gold with icy shimmer (Frost), this is my favorite highlighter ( you can see that I hit pan already). be careful this has an obvious yellow gold tone & it's clearly FROSTY. I also love it as an inner corner highlighter & I heard some people use it as a cheek highlighter as well.
